Discussion Title: Characteristics of 21st century Learner

  1. Discuss the characteristic of 21st century learner.
  2. How important we as an educator to know 21st century learner?
  3. How its effect technologies in education?

The Answer:

From my findings about the characteristics of 21st century learner are as below;

1. Characteristics of 21st century learner. In my opinion, the most important character that be needed in 21st century learner are really can multi-task. They also can collaboratively amazing well with grouping task and like to figure out thing more with their peers. The learner usually want to keep in touch with their friends in real time with their own ways such as in social media and their mobile technology. They also can be oftenhave higher level of digital literacy rather than their teacher and parents, thus they were expect more in transparency in their parents and teachers to gain more freedom in demanding to show their wild creativity.

2. Importance to know 21st century learner. Teachers are the one that will taught student in 21st century that were start to learned subject areas with interdiciplinary themes such as Global Awareness, Environmental Literacy and Civic Literacy. All this kind of subject areas need learners to be more in term of critical thinking and problem solving thus teachers can have give instuction in classrooms learning based on their needs, characteristic and behavior too.

3. Effect technologies in education. Technologies can give various of perception towards education such as can improves students self-esteem and motivation. Technologies also can changes the students and teachers roles, for examples students are started to communicating with their peers using technologies as a support and a tool can be an active role in adapting information transmitted by a teacher,texbooks and more conventional approaches, rather than passive roles like before.
